18 years old Cross Riverian Miss Alina Blessing Everian, schooling at Eastern Mediterranean University, Cyprus recently bagged the 5th edition of the African Students Grand Award (ASGA), 2016.

ASGA was initiated in 2012 by the Nigerian Students Society, Eastern Mediterranean University, Famagusta North Cyprus.

Blessing who hails from Becheve, Obanliku local government area of Cross River State in a statement said, “It’s an honour, I feel proud of this prestigious award. I couldn’t have done it without God. I feel happy and fulfilled. This is my first year here and the love I’ve received so far is overwhelming”.

It will be recalled that, the first year Pharmacy student began her winning ways back in Nigeria, when she made Cross River proud by winning a Bronze Medal at the 3rd Under 19 Girls Squash Open Challenge in Lagos last year.


Other Nigerians who won the students award in Cyprus include: Kingsley Udofia as Most Social Male from Akwa Ibom State, Favor Ezinne as Best Athlete Female from Imo State, Hamza Bello as Mr. Eastern Mediterranean University from Kogi State, Adetoyi Adeyemi Azeez from Osun State for Best Coach Female and Hope Nancy as Entrepreneur of the year.
