Yesterday, 15th June, 2017 made it exactly 365 days since the untimely demise of former Cross River State Agriculture Commissioner, James Aniyom.

He also served in the Donald Duke administration as Duke’s Chief of Staff.

To remember his life, family and friends gathered for a closed service held in his honour by the graveside at Hawkins Road Cemetery, Eyo Ita Axis, Calabar.

In a brief sermon, the officiating minister reflected on the life and times of Jimmy both for his legacy as a trail-blazing politician and as a generous, thoughtful and kind-hearted man.

“If the deceased could turn in his grave and look around, he would be at peace seeing you all that have gathered here today to remember him” He said.

Prayers were made for his soul to continue to rest in peace with the Lord and for God to strengthen the family especially his widow Mrs. Abia Jane Aniyom and children, Jason, Mma and James Jnr.
