The 5th edition of Accra Weizo kicked off with a robust fam trip to the Western Region of Ghana. The region is endowed with considerable natural resources, which gives it a significant economic importance contributing over 60% of national development. According to the Regional Minister, “The best is in the West”.
The Western Region of Ghana is famous for beautiful safe beaches and African touch beach resorts like the Maaha beach resort in Bakanta.
The community built entirely on stilts and platforms over water have over 400 residents including adult and children. They have basic amenities like electricity, street lights, school, church and a traditional medicine store.
The stopover tour to Cape CCastle revealed a lot about slavery in West Africa centuries ago, very similar to what we have in Badagry, Nigeria.
From Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra to Karela Beach Resort to Pempamsie Hotel, we are back to Accra City Hotel to begin business of Toursim, Accra Weizo 2019 taking place at La Palm Beach Hotel. We are discussing “Seamless Travel in West Africa” with speakers from Ghana, Nigeria, Dubai, and Uganda.
Highpoint of the Fam Trip was the visit to the village on water, Nzelezo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
