As part of series of post event activities for the Ayade Job Festival held in January 2019 in Calabar, an entrepreneurship marketing training has been organized for participants in Calabar.
The training which held at the mini conference room of hotel 45 was organized by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Entrepreneurship and Job Placement, headed by Mr. Joseph Edet and had entrepreneurs, business owners and project partners in attendance.
According to the SSA in his opening speech, he said “there are over 105,000 SME’s in Cross River State and this government led by Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade is committed to improving the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ in the state by creating the enabling environment for businesses to thrive amidst the harsh economic conditions facing the country.
“The job fair was to bring that connection between enterprise and governance and create that supply chain for the government’s industrialization drive. Today we have successfully registered the first set of businesses with the CAC to begin this process and certificates will be presented to them soon”, he added.
Also speaking Mr. Okorn Joseph, CEO of LiftHub Africa during the training shared insight on entrepreneurship marketing skills and how SME’s can create value for just a percentage of the market.
Business owners present at the training learnt how to separate personal finances from business finances.
Highpoint of the event was the fulfillment of the first phase of grants by His Excellency, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade through the empowerment of participants with Longrich products worth over 100,000 naira each for them to deploy the marketing skills acquired in the training to sell products and inject profit into their businesses as grant.
Participants expressed their excitement and thanked the Governor for his desire to ensure that entrepreneurs in Cross River state get the needed backing and support.
