Afterschool Centre for Career Development (Formerly known as Afterschool Peer Mentoring Project) is a capacity development organization committed to assisting young persons in transitional stages of their lives set goals and walks them through the achievement of such goals. The Project provides growth opportunities and self as well as career development interventions for and with young people enabling them transit seamlessly from school to work.

As part of its objectives to proving learning and growth opportunities for young women in Nigeria, Afterschool Centre for Career Development is partnering with the Vital Voices Global Partnership and Idea Builders Initiative to lead the 2016 Women Mentoring Women Walk in Nigeria.

The Vital Voices Global partnership and Women Mentoring Women Network envisions a community of empowered women living lives worthy of emulation and aims to inspire a new cadre of women leaders/entrepreneurs. As part of its effort to celebrate the annual Women Mentoring Women Day – November 12th 2016; the Women Mentoring Women Network will be organizing Mentoring Walks in 5 cities in Nigeria.

The 2016 Women Mentoring Women (WMW) Walk will connect Nigeria’s leading women business leaders with emerging business women around the country to amplify the significance of all women – supporting the cause Women Mentoring Women (WMW) irrespective of vocation or creed. This Walk will be bringing together 500 established women leaders and rising women professionals to walk together in Calabar, Uyo, Benin, Lagos and Kano.

The activities for the Women Mentoring Women (WMW) Week and Mentoring Walk include:

On- boarding Training for Mentees (Friday, November 11th 2016)

Women Mentoring Women Mentoring Walk – (Saturday, 12th November 2016) – 5 locations
