Calabar International Convention Centre Appoints Two New Executives
Mr. Hope Obeten & Mr, Celestine Ahamnonu
In meeting its demand of attracting “hundreds of thousands” of visitors when it opens its door to the world in the third quarter of 2015, Calabar International Convention Centre [Calabar ICC] has expanded its team with the appointment of two new team members.
The new appointments include Mr. Hope Obeten as Research and Marketing Executive and Mr. Celestine Ahamnonu as Sales Coordinator (Port Harcourt Zone).
Meet the Team
Mr. Hope Obeten joins Calabar ICC with vast experience in online marketing, social media management, creative content development and brand management. Hope is a graduate of University of Calabar, Cross River State and a renowned blogger.
On his appointment Ben Asoro , Director, Marketing and Sales said ‘’Calabar ICC spotted his refined commercial and social media skills set which has seen him successfully work with various brands, projects and corporate bodies in Nigeria’’. He brings to the centre a passion for delivery, utilizing his skills and knowledge in attracting major events to the convention Centre given the prominent role the new media is playing in the event Industry.
Commenting on his appointment, Hope said, “I consider it a great privilege, as a Cross Riverian, to be part of the world class and multi-national team of the Calabar ICC, where I am willing to make a remarkable contribution in positioning the Calabar ICC as a perfect destination for Meetings, Incentives travels, Conferences and Exhibitions in Africa.”
Mr. Celestine Ahamnonu has also joined the Convention Centre’s pioneer team as Calabar ICC Sales Coordinator for Port Harcourt. A graduate of Enugu State University of Science and Technology, and coincidentally a former pioneer staff member for Arik Air Nigeria, he brings on board the requisite territory knowledge, corporate and NGO sales experience.
Reacting to his appointment, excited Celestine said, “I am happy to be part of the pre-opening team of the Calabar ICC, as they have proven that great work is done by people who are not afraid to be great and I am convinced that this state-of-the-art multifunctional convention centre will change the business tourism industry in Nigeria.”
