As part of efforts to mobilize resources for the implementation of her activities, the 2015 Carnival Calabar Queen (CCQ), Miss Leaticia Olawole recently paid an advocacy visit to the Wife of the Governor of Cross River State, Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs.) Linda Ayade.
The Queen who was accompanied by the Executive Director, Mothers Against Child Abandonment (MACA) and a few staff of the organization, spoke about her activities as Queen and her plan to embark on a sensitization of in-school youths on the dangers of risky sexual behaviours, as soon as schools resume in September. She appealed for support and partnership with the First Lady to enable her successfully implement the project.
Responding to the appeal, Dr. (Mrs.) Linda Ayade commended the efforts of the Queen and MACA for using the platform of CCQ to reach out to young persons, whom she said are in dire need of such information given the pressures they face among their friends on daily basis. She assured the Queen of her readiness to support her in whatever capacity to reach out to young people, asking that MACA communicates with her as soon as the Queen is ready.
