Code888: Group Set To Honour Ayade and 21 Others As ‘Heroes of Back-To-South’

Code888, a socio-political group and progenitors of the ‘Back-to-South’ movement have concluded plans to honour imminent personalities who identified, embraced and stood by the power rotation agreement in Cross River State.
This was disclosed in a press briefing held at the group’s Secretariat, Big Qua Shopping Mall opposite UJ Esuene stadium, Calabar, where members unanimously agreed to honor some selected key stakeholders who supported the Back-to-South campaign that stood for equity, justice and fairness and enthroned Sen. Bassey Edet Otu, as Governor-elect.
The Director-General of the group, Engr. Maurice Nkong said they rigorously and carefully selected the stakeholders who stood to ensure the Back-to-South agenda was achieved.
He said “As a group, we want to honour some critical stakeholders whose sacrifice we have noticed as a group. Practically speaking you cannot honour everyone who has worked towards the fulfillment of this agenda but we just think that we should put it down in history that they are people who can say a thing and stand by it all through the course.
“We have 21 persons to be honoured including the Governor as the superhero. We want to see men of goodwill stand on the course of the truth,” he said.
On his part, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Mr Great Ogban, said the event will be a colourful one, adding “we are known for excellence and like the DG has said 31st of May, at Transcorp by 5 pm we will be celebrating a culture that works. The culture that produces peaceful coexistence in Cross River State.
