Governor Otu Appoints NUJ Chairman, Ogbeche Chief Press Secretary

Cross River state Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has appointed the Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, FCT Council, Mr. Emmanuel Ogbeche, as his Chief Press Secretary.
Ogbeche, a seasoned journalist, and the Editor-in-chief of The Abuja Inquirer, was appointed among few others in the governor’s early appointment of aides after being sworn into office on May 29, 2023.
The appointment was conveyed in a statement by the Permanent Secretary, General Administration, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Innocent Eteng, on Monday.
The statement read: “His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu has approved your (Mr. Emmanuel Ipole Ogbeche) appointment as the Chief Press Secretary.”
Others appointed are: Prof. Anthony Owan-Enoh, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hon. Emmanuel lronbar, Chief of Staff, Major Gen. Okoi Ubi Obono (Rid), Snr. Special Adviser-Security ( State Security Adviser), AIG John Abang (Rtd), Special Adviser Security (Central), Mr. Achu Ben Olayi, Special Adviser Security (North) Commander Patrick Odiong (Rtd), Special Adviser Security (South), Mr. Emmanuel Ipole Ogbeche, Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Sylvester Otu Abang, Acting State Chief of Protocol.
According to the statement, the appointments takes immediate effect.
