Plans have been concluded for Cross River State to join the league of States that have a real time business directory that lists all businesses in the state through its app-operated digital search platform and also a hard copy edition.
Known as the Cross River Business Directory, this business information compendium is expected to list all businesses, including commercial businesses, government MDAs, churches, NGOs, and schools in all the 18 local government areas of the State
In a statement signed by the Project Director, Mr. Kammonke Abam, the Cross River Business Directory is going to be the most comprehensive, factual, and up-to-date single business register that contains information about the State, and lists businesses in the different Local Government Areas.
This business directory, according to Abam, will complement the efforts of the State Government to open up the state to investors and also contribute to making it easy for visitors and residents to navigate their way in terms of accessing products and services in the State.
Abam disclosed that all businesses whether they are conglomerates such as banks, churches, schools or sole proprietorships such as restaurants, eateries, the popular Food is Ready, taxis, hair salons, tailoring shops, and even table businesses are eligible to be listed in the directory so long as the owners have at least a telephone line and are ready to showcase their businesses.
Abam informed that there is a subsidized basic listing fee of One Thousand Naira (N1,000) that each business has to pay to be listed in the book, adding that there are huge advertising opportunities such as full page, half page and other opportunities for those who want premium visibility.
Already, the directory listing forms are out and can be obtained in the following locations: Ministry of Information and Orientation, Calabar; all First Bank branches in the State, Hit FM, CRBC, Calabar Chamber of Commerce office in Eyo Ita House, Tecil Integrated Services Ltd, Marian Road, Opposite Total Filling State, Malachi Microfinance Bank on Bishop Moynagh Avene, State Housing among other places.
Abam, who is the CEO of Profiles & Biographies, publishers of the Directory, also said that the directory provides business information about the 18 local government areas, showcasing their rich natural endowments and unique selling propositions.
With this, the Cross River State becomes the second state in the South-South region, only after Rivers State to have this specialized business information compendium.
The Cross River Business Directory is a public-private partnership initiative led by the Ministry of Information and Orientation, Hit FM, Tecil Integrated Services Limited, Calabar Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture, Lachriche Technologies, and Profiles & Biographies.
Abam also said that interested business owners can contact him on 08037265719 or the Project Implementation Committee Secretary, Mr. Ben Okache on 08035530226
