On Sunday, 27th of August 2017, The Special Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade on Sports, Mr. Effiom Effiwatt organized a guided tour of Calabar for the delegates of the just concluded National Judiciary Games in Calabar, Cross River State.
Mr. Effiwatt said that this initiative was in tandem with Governor Ben Ayade’s vision of promoting the state’s huge tourism potentials through sporting activities. “We are keeping with the need to blend sports with tourism as there lie the dollars in the business sports”, he noted.
According to Special Adviser, he said “The tour had over 500 delegates visiting places of interest like the bush meat village in Atimbo where they finished all the days stock in a few minutes from there to Cross River State Industrial park, they marveled at the ongoing work there especially the idea behind the garment factory, the garment factory was greeted with a big round of applause from there we took them to Tinapa, Monorail, Hotel, Studio and Water park, we left Tinapa to Calabar International Convention Centre, CICC, Hope Waddell and terminated the tour at Marina resort where they saw the clearing for Cala-vegas which they expressed enthusiasm to visit and experience soon”.
