The kick off of the Sports fiesta organized by the leadership of NYCN-CRS through the office of the deputy Chairman was carried out at the famous U J Esuene stadium in calabar by the deputy Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Prof Ivara Ejemot Esu (OFR)

NYCN-CRS chairman, Comrade Dan Obo Jnr in his welcome remarks appreciated CRS sports Commission, NYCN EXCO, Youth Parliament for their respective imputs in making sure the event was a huge success while urging the athletes to exhibit the spirit of sportsmanship at all times

Speaking at the event, the deputy Governor represented by Hon Ilom expressed satisfaction at the giant strides gained by the administration under the leadership of comrade Dan Obo Jnr.

It excites me when I see youths of Cross River State come together to do something meaningful that will add value to the society said Prof Ivara

According to Prof Ivara, sports is one thing that can bring the youths together and aswell take thier minds off social vices capable of destroying a promising tomorrow and we will always support the youths to achieve more

Deputy chairman, Joel Henshaw in his closing remark commended the deputy Governor, directors of sports in various institutions, NYCN EXCO, parliament and spectators for making the maiden sports fiesta a priority despite busy schedules while appealing for continuous support through out the tournaments..
