The former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Cross River State chapter, Ntufam John Okon has given his only daughter’s hand in marriage in Calabar.
Ntufam Okon betrothed his daughter, Joan to Tombari Bien whom she met during their National Youth Service Corps, NYSC years.
The traditional marriage rite was presented and sealed on Thursday at the bride’s hometown in Aningeje, Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State while the white wedding was performed on Saturday in Calabar.
The marriage was graced by so many dignitaries including the former deputy Governor, Mr. Efiok Cobham, Senator representing Cross River State Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator John Owan Enoh.
Speaking, Senator Owan Enoh who was also the chairman of the occasion, congratulated the parents of the couple for being a witness to the union of their children, stating that, “The greatest feeling and joy in every parent is to nurture and watch their children grow from early stage to marriage level”.
He advised the couple to posses the spirit of obedience and submissiveness to one another as he declared his profound wishes for them.
Other dignitaries presented at the marriage described the union as a perfect match as they prayed to God to sustain the marriage till eternity.
The parents of the couple, Elder (Ntufam) and Barrister (Mrs.) John Okon and Mr. and Mrs. Sunday Bien, expressed their exceeding joy for the union, charging the love birds to overcome all challenges that comes with marriage.
The couple at the other hand, thanked everyone for coming to share in their joy, describing each other as an angelic gift created for each, specifically by God.
The marriage was officiated by Pastor Niyi Haastrup of House on the Rock at the Venetian Hall, Calabar on Saturday, 31st March, 2018.
