Calabar – 19th to 20th of May, 2023 – iKapture Center for Development and Technovation South-South Chapter is proud to announce 47 teams of girls ages 8-18 took the stage on the 19th and 20th of May at University of Calabar International Conference Center to make the case for how they are going to change the world through technology. The young women have spent the last months participating in Technovation Girls, a global technology entrepreneurship program that challenges girls to develop a mobile application to solve an issue they’ve identified in their community.

At the event, the teams of girls pitched their ideas for mobile applications that address low student performances in high school, food waste, climate change, awareness of Asthma, skin diseases and insecurity to judges from the tech industry. Amid the tough competition, 5 teams stood out and placed for their region.
