The governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-rufai has appointed cross river born Peter Ayim as Special Assistant on Vocational Training and Skills Acquisition, In a swearing-in and oath taking ceremony held at Kaduna State Council Chambers, Government House, Kaduna.

According to the statement issued by Mr Samuel Aruwan, the Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the governor, it explained “As part of his commitment to run a slimmer and more responsive government, cut costs and drive efficiency, Malam Nasir el-Rufai has disclosed that his and deputy and him would appoint only 12 Special Assistants with specific mandates, assignments and targets to achieve.”
According to Peter Ayim’s profile on Linkedin,  it shows Mr. Peter is an entrepreneur and administrator.

A multi-disciplinary professional with a broad based proficient background.

His competence spans over Managerial/Administrative, Business Development, Human Resource Development and Training, Consulting, Marketing Communications – Public Relations, Advertising, Branding, Concept Development and Identification and development of opportunities for providing various specialist and interdisciplinary inputs.

Mr. Ayim is a Development Practitioner with special bias and passion for youth development. He is the Founder and President of INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE, a well focused youth serving non-governmental organisation poised to change the face of youth development in Nigeria with its broad based creative, innovative and cutting edge programmes and activities.

Mr Ayim is the National Coordinator of Civil Society Network for National Security, and Nigerian Youth Volunteer Service. Chairman, Nigerian Youth Oil and Gas Forum. 

His is the Founder of Business Development Service Providers of Nigeria (BUDSPAN), 
Nigerian Youth Chamber of Commerce (NYCC) and the Chair of the World Youth Chamber of Commerce among other development and impact oriented platforms.

Mr. Ayim is a researcher, trainer, writer and author. He co-edited Policies of the Federal Republic of Nigeria – “The Obasanjo Years”, Authored “The Nigerian Youth Development Handbook”, He is currently working on “Business Development Service (BDS) Reference Handbook for Practitioners”, Understanding Youth Entrepreneurship, StartUp Enterprises (Averting the Pitfalls), Understanding the Concepts of Social Entrepreneurship and Volunteerism and also “Every Minutes Counts” – a Time Management Handbook for the Nigerian Youth among others.

Mr. Ayim is an Executive Director and Senior Research Fellow of the Centre for Policy Research and Development and a Vice President of Sustainable Development in Africa Network (SUDANET).
