Gov. Ben Ayade in keeping in line with promises made to the internally displaced people of Bakassi celebrated his 49th birthday at the Ilkpang Nkanya IDP camp. Adding that he has not only an executive obligation but also a moral responsibility to provide the IDPs with a shoulder to lean on and reduce the pain of displacements by providing happiness and basic amenities like water, housing and opportunity to go to school, in order for them to realise their potentials
He lamented the living conditions of the IDPs and promised to see them fully resettled. Concluding by saying; “Of what value is life when you are not adding value to another life?”
Early last week, a corp member serving in the state Mohammed Thompson also donated relief material worth over 500,000 Naira to Bakassi
