And the tour continues in Abuja, as Miss Africa pageant with a unique theme ‘climate change’ is set to take center stage in Africa as one of the major forces advocating the need for society to protect the environment from the negative effects of rising global temperatures.

On arrival in Abuja on Wednesday 19th July, Queen Neurite Mendes was given a rousing welcome and and an official dinner reception by the Angolan ambassador to Nigeria His Excellency E.J Quibato and his dear wife at the Angolan residence.

Visibly proud of their daughter, the ambassador thanked His Excellency the Governor of #CrossRiverState for such an initiative and deemed it a rare privilege that an Angolan was crowned the 1st #MissAfrica which makes the pageant truly a voice in Africa. He also presented gifts to Governor Ben Ayade as he also hopes to visit the state soon.

Thursday 20th July, (Day 2) kicked off on a great start as the 1st engagement was a live interview at Kapital City Fm,92.9(former radio Nigeria) morning drive which was streamed live on Instagram and Facebook.

Other engagements for the day was a courtesy call to the South African ambassador to Nigeria His Excellency Lulu Louis Mnguni to seek his support for the #MissAfrica2017 campaign, a live midday prime time interview at kiss Fm, 99.9 and a strategic meeting and tree planting ceremony at the headquarters of DAAR communications, with the MD, represented by Mr Imoni Amarere, MD DAAR news services.

On Friday, 21st July, 2017 the Queen alongside the SSA events and tourism/Head of Production Miss Africa, Mr Thomas Ikpeme were on a Live TV interview by 8am on AIT KAKAKI breakfast show which was followed by a ceremonial tree planting ceremony at the Transcorp Hilton hotel Abuja with special appearances by the representative of His Excellency, the Angolan ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency E.J Quibato, the South African High Commissioner to Nigeria, His Excellency, Mr Lulu Louis Mnguni and MD Transcorp, Mr Valentine Ozigbo to launch Queen Neurites tree planting campaign and her pet project #AdoptATree #savethemotherearth in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria.
