Members of National Association of Cross River State Students, NACRISS, Cross River State College of Education, Awi/Akamkpa chapter have shared one hundred and eighty thousand naira in gift items among two orphanages (Infant Orphanage Home and Chief Michael Ekpenyong Iso Home) in Calabar, Cross River State.

Speaking while presenting the gift items according to the President of NACRISS in the College, Comrade Ita Ekpenyong, the items are worth one hundred and eighty thousand naira, adding that the desire to share with the orphans is as a result of the fact that they know God is great.

Urging them to be strong in their endeavors, Ita said they should blame no one for their being in the orphanage but look at it as an opportunity to learn in life.

Furthermore he encouraged the children to make good use of the items presented to them stating that though they are small, nevertheless, they can fill a gap.


Other members of the entourage who spoke to the children encouraged them to be focused and determined to be what they choose to be in future irrespective of the obstacles.

Responding, the Director of the orphanage, Chief Michael Ekpenyong Iso Home, Dr. Esther Onoyom-Ita and the Coordinator Infant Orphanage Home, Sister Janet both expressed gratitude to NACRISS College of Education Akamkpa chapter for their benevolence.

They prayed for God’s blessing and protection upon the union and asked God to replenish the sources of their finances.

The items presented include clothes, toiletries (carton of soaps, powder detergents and disinfectants), cartons of noodles, bags of rice, books, biros, cartons of tin tomatoes and 30 litres of ground nut oil.
