It was an evening of live music, beautiful girls (and guys), palm wine and saliva inducing meals last Friday at popular Atekong Junction, Marian as people throng out for Fiesta Special Friday.
The event which had on its menu the popular Ofada Rice is a special food event to showcase different Nigeria cuisines and is the first of its kind to be held in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
The organizer of the event, Oghenefego Daniels said he is a food-preneur and building a food and lifestyle brand. And he held the event because “I’m building a food and lifestyle brands involve bringing up different concepts like food events, food parties. I realized it is no longer just food we can mix lifestyle to it and that was what brought about food tasting and plus Ofada is rare here.” He added
As regards the turn-up of people Daniels said “Well yes in participation, but I wanted more participations, I wanted more networks, more tasting should go on. In fact I wanted more of what I planned. The more the merrier”
Daniels advised young persons to stay consistent.” Don’t get discouraged and don’t join the narrative of people who say there is no money in Calabar. There is money and Calabar is blessed.”
Participants at the event said they had fun and gave thumbs up to the quality of food served.
